Anyone live in or around the area? i might be helping my sister move up there in a couple weeks and am always looking for a little hunting opportunity.

The chief of poice pulled me over once when I was tghere cause he saw my longbow strapped on some gear inthe back of my truck. He invited me over to see the deer he shot with his longbow, lol.
Try Burning Coal Seam and other public lands. I like that area.

I live in SE North Dakota, not the part you are going to. There is a fair amount of public land in ND. You are going to have to be creative.

Ryan, I and two other guy's are going to be camping in Grassy Butte, which is just south of Watford city. We will be hunting the grasslands for the first week of October. Send me a P.M. if you want to meet up, or if you are going to be around that week..Henry

It's a booming part of ND with all the oilfield stuff going on. Deer numbers are down after 3 bad winters. It's a nice part of the state.

I hunted near Medora, which is south of Watford City. Beautiful country, with lots of muleys and whitetail. I heard they have had some pretty bad winter die offs, so it may not be as good as it was a few years ago.
