Vortex Viper 6 x 32 binos

Looking for opinions/reviews from owners of this model.  TG'ers will likely be looking for the same thing I am in a glass, so your experience is valuable.

I have the Vortex 6.5 x 32s, but I am not sure if they are the Viper model or not. I did a lot of research before I bought them, and it paid off------big time.

I have hunted with Zeiss 10 x 40s for a long, long time, but I have to say my new Vortex are brighter and sharper, and more useful for most bowhunting situations.

My Zeiss 10 x 40s are great for long-distance scouting, but for me, most of my use for binoculars is 200 yards and closer. Sure, I locate mule deer a long, long ways away with my 10 x 40s, but I can also do that with the 6.5 x 32s, but the 6.5s are far better at under 200 yards than the 10 x 40s, and the field of view is WAY WAY wider than the 10 x 40s, which is a huge plus if you wear glasses.

When you are trying to quickly spot an Aistralian wild boar's eyeball at 10 yards in the long grass to see if he is looking at you, or if you are looking into a brush patch at 20 yards to see if a mule deer is looking the other way so you can take just one more step, the 6.5 power and wider field of view is worth it's weigh in gold.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Zeiss, but for 90 percent of my hunting, I will be using my Vortex 6.5 x 32s. They are so bright and clear that is it hard to leave them at home.

I have the Viper 6x32 and they are the perfect bowhunting bino. Very clear and easy to focus in the woods. I wear bifocals and these binos work great with them. I hunt in a lot of second growth cutblocks and they are pretty grown up so the 6 power really helps pick the animal out of the thick brush. Also they hang perfectly on my HSS safety vest and don't interfear with shooting my longbow. Get em, you won't be sorry. Bob

Tom...just get them, you never regret it. I very rarly use my 10x42 now. Many other guys tried these 6.5x32 while sheep hunting- they were stunned how clear they were. I got them originally for whitetail and turkey but they go on all hunts now.

I've got the Viper 6x32 and I also think they are great.
My experience matches Canadabowyer.

I use a Crooked Horn harness and it keeps them handy but out of the way for shooting. The 6x allows one-hand use while holding a bow in a treestand.

OK, THAT'S JUST TOO MANY GREAT REPORTS....does Vortex have an incentive program for referrals? Must be something like that, because I know how tight ol' Raghorn is with his cash!  Sorry, Ron!   :bigsmyl:   I guess I'll have to try them for myself!

If you are tight for cash, look at Leupold's Yosmite's 6x30's.Lighter weight and more compact then the above mentioned and under $100
