Hunter's Point moose season
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:28:00 AM »
I got this pic this AM from Paul Corliss, one of Eldon's moose guides. He didn't say much just that a video was coming soon. I know Paul was guiding a trad bowhunter from MD so I am assuming a bow kill video is soon to be released. But here's the teaser.

I'm sorry to say a couple of things. The hunt was not good. Eldon had 3 hunters and only one bull was taken all week. The pic I posted last week was a compound kill (found out this AM and apologize for posting it before confirming). The only trad hunter hit one nice bull low in the chest, actually a non fatal brisket shot, and it went unrecovered. The video I alluded to has to be of the compound kill so in order to see it you will have to go to the website and click on the link once Laura gets a chance to download it. Next week is the second moose hunt so I will keep you guys informed. Apparently the weather was very warm and the moose were not responding well. If I understood the feedback I got everyone saw upwards of 2 dozen bulls during the week.

Looks cold up there this week but heating up again for the Oct opener. I'm leaving Saturday around 4am hoping for some cool air.  Joe

I'd give my left... to be able to hunt one of them critters just once before I pass from this earth.. I've seen them in the wild but never with a tag and a bow in my hand.. Not sure my old body would stand up to the rigors of the hunt though..

javi...I shot one in 2007 here in NH. Access to hunting is relatively easy and getting one out is not a problem in most areas. In addition, the NH lottery is has the highest chance of getting drawn.
