I've gotten just about all of the green paint off the bow by scraping it but some stuburn areas I've had to sand,,I don't want to sand too much so How much is to much on sanding down an old bow to refinish it completely,,

Sand lightly with 180 grit until you become comfortable with what you are doing...you will see the old finish coming off and raw material appearing in spots. It will be obvious in sun or good lighting. If you need to go more aggressive then do so, but take care and use finesse.

Thanks droptine,,I barely had to put any preasure on it to scrape the old paint off of the bow.I've sanded all of the old finish off with 180 and all seems well,,JB
