Finally Got To Go Out For Day 1 2011
« on: October 07, 2011, 07:40:00 PM »
I finally was able to get out in the field today. I cant believe how much I missed it.

 Just being able to go out in the field and slow down....No deer on the ground but we all know its more than that.

Reminds me how lucky I am to have the freedom to do this thing with the stick and string.

It's always great for the soul just to be out there with a bow no matter what does/doesn't happen critter-wise...   :campfire:

I am waiting on my husband to be ready to go for the long weekend. Because of Virginia's archaic NO SUNDAY hunting, I will be limited to what I can do this evening and Monday morning. But being in the woods is a much-needed connection between me and my Creator.

Yes, we are lucky, but the luck is partly that, and partly because of the work done on our behalf by those of similar, not exact, but similar, mindsets. I am grateful to those who came before me (you were born when I graduated high school, Dave), who felt strongly enough to enact the legislation that enables me to pursue my dreams, and to honor the One who made all that I hold dear.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
