Trail Cam Question?

I have had a Wildgame Inovations trail cam for a couple of years and enjoy using it to see what is roaming around my property. I checked it yesterday and I had no pictures so on further investigation it appears the camera is on the fritz!! I have had this 120 dollar trail cam for two years and I need to replace it. The question is, is two years normally the life of a trail cam and if it should last longer what model have you had luck with? Maybe I need to spend more on the next one but if they only last two years what is the point? Oh by the way I only had it out spring, summer and fall, not winter. Any info is appreciated.

Contact the mfgr. Cuddeback will take back cameras and sell you a new one at a discounted price. Don't know about yours.

Same thing happened to my wildgame innovations.  Figured it was not worth the postage to send it back as mine was the 50 dollar one.  Think it is worth it to spend a little more for a quality one.

even the expensive ones seem to work for less then 2 years down here in Florida.
heat, humidity, and rain are killers.

I'm with Bill on this one, I would contact Wildgame and tell them about your camera, the worst thing that could happen is they tell you they can't do anything about it. I have dealt with Wildgame Innovations and they are pretty decent to deal with compared to other trail cam companies. If that doesn't work I would look at some of the trail camera review websites.

2 years is a good life out of a cheapie from my experience. The only one I have had that lasted for any longer (and it lasted for 5 or 6 years and was a GREAT camera) was a Moultrie Gamespy 200 which they do not make anymore.

i work at a sportign goods store and i can tell you that wildgame is by far the most returned camera we get by far i can also say that we get almost every make of camera we sell back. there is only two i have not seen returned one the reconex (549.99) and the spypoint (199.99) my next camera will be a spypoint tiny

I just use cheap cameras for this reason.  If it fails in the first season I contact the company and have had good luck with return/replacement -even if I have camo'd it up.  The company I buy all my cams from is: "the sportsmans guide".  They always have great deals on cams and their return policy is exceptional.  

My goal is just to see what is out there and not get perfect shots.  I like having 2-3 cheapos vs. 1 great one providing more opportunity for me.  I think if you wanted better shots look into some of the homebrew models that guys are making.  Some are made almost bomb proof and take perfect pictures.  

Other opinions will vary but if I loose a 50$ cam I am not so upset as I would be with a 100-200+ outfit.  JMO
