Tuning ? for arrows with HIT inserts...

How do you tune arrow length for arrows with HIT inserts? My initial thought would be to cut off the rear of the shaft...
Thanks for your help!

You could cut the rear of the shaft. Another approach is to experiment with the 50/75gr brass break away inserts if you don't mind using more than one shaft for testing. I used one shaft with the stock 16gr inserts and another with 75gr brass.

Yep. either cut from the nock end, or use low temp hot-melt glue and shoot in to a soft target. Be sure to heat only the field tip and not the shaft if using the hot melt!

I use the saran wrap method for tuning any of my carbons including my Axis/MFX.I push in the insert with some saran wrap,it holds snug enough for tuning.I like to use arrow wraps on my carbons and like them on when tuning. So cutting from the nock end doesn't work for me.I getting my tuning done with no heat or gluing the inserts in.Been doing it this way for years, but you will need a softer target like a bag target that doesn't grab too tight on arrow removal.
