Hi all, I'm just getting into trad. Gonna retire my Compound after this year. Whats your opinion on the Martin L-100. For me the price is about right for a newbie. Thanks in advance, you guys are awsome.

My son shoots a L-100. I bought it from the classifieds on here for 100 tyd. We put skinny strings on it from Oliver Stacey and a Big Jim bow quiver on it and muscrat silencers.Get the arrows matched up correctly and you'll hsve a shooter. The bow is just as accurate as my custom bows are. . I say go for it, for the money its a great bow.

I'd say save some money and find a nice used bow.  You can get real nice used custom bows for as low as $200 and nice used production bows (Bear/Martin/etc.) for as low as $100.  Used bows are easier to resell for what you paid for them if you don't like it and want to buy something else.

I've shot it and its a good bow. If you are new to trad go low draw weight - say 45#.  But, as was said above, the classifieds here have great deals...watch them for a while and you may see an L-100 or other nice long bow for cheap.
