What glue for Nocks & Woodies..?

What do you use to glue nocks to wood arrows? I've used 5 min. Epoxy in the past and I've had a lot of nocks break. I'm thinking the Epoxy is weaking the plastic. I've also used Duco but had them fall off with that.

I've used Duco in the past with no problems. Right now I'm using some Loctite stik'n seal outdoor adhesive that I picked up when I couldn't find any Duco.  It's worked well so far on nocks and fletching on both wood and aluminum. What kind of nocks are you using? I ended up tossing 100 nocks in the trash because they were too brittle.

Depends upon the finish one puts on the wood. Duco works for nearly all paints/sealers except Bohning Products.

Never had a nock "fall off" of a wood arrow when I used DUCO-in fact, have to cut them off most all the time.

NEVER any problems.
Also, the duco wasn't used over bohning sealer.
it was used over Poly-U

I always worry that I'm using enough glue on the nocks. I don't want them to fall off but I also don't want to use so much glue that it oozes out the bottom when I put the nock on.
I recently gotten a few arrows back that had the nocks broken by other arrows and was gratified at how difficult it was to get the broken nock off for replacement. I've apparently found the right amount of glue.

I have always used duco on nocks & feathers for woodies. I started shooting some old woods that I have had setting around for more than fifteen years in the basement. The duco had actually turned a dark brown from age I guess. Nocks are all staying on but some feathers came off after several shots.

I cut and seal my nock ends with poly and use fletchtite platinum,with no problems. I also have used Duco with good results also.

OK..thx guys I 'll try Duco again. I keep the wood clean where the nock goes no sealer or paint on it and for the most part I use Snap On nocks

What do you do if you want to remove a nock thats been glued with Duco? Ive tried heating them up twisting them off anything I could think of and nothing worked.

I use a small torch to burn the knock, they actually catch fire most of the time. Then use a pair of pliars while still buring to twist off. then a sharp knife to dress up the end of the shaft, removing anything left.

Loctite super glue I found at wally world has worked best for me.

If the nock is still completely around the end of the shaft
I've used a small flame either from a lighter or alcohol burner to soften the plastic.

Then I use a sharp knife to press/cut a slot in the nock.
Then you can just peel the nock off while it's still soft.

'Zackly so.  But I do save the old tips off my Fletchtite tubes t put on the Duco tubes.

Mike paint and seal, or at least seal, the nock area. Then the Duco will adhere to the sealer. It has always worked for me. Trying to glue directly to wood you would have to use an epoxy that adheres to different types of material.
