A rainy day at home , the girls away for the w'end and I have a day off from both the office and the horses and paddocks .
As such I applied a coat of polyrethane to 60 douglas firs and re watched some archery stuff ... Schulz "Hittin' 'em like Howard Hill ", Flynn's Robin Hood and then as tghe thunder and rain gained intensity , with a hot coffee in hand and arrows set aside , Wensel/ Mitten Essential Encounters .
This was brought up in a thread just recently ... the likes and dislikes etc but this afternoon , tucked away on the couch I found that new little nuggets are to be found in another sitting . This is a testament to why many of us head outdoors in chase of game with archery tackle ... If I could show this at dinner parties and schools I'm sure I would get more interest and maybe understanding when I mention bowhunting rather than scorn, and disgust ..... And compared to what passes as "archery hunting " elswhere in the media is so often just bloodthirsty arrogant horn porn that this is more than just refreshing , its a dignified view of what is misunderstood by so many , particularly non hunters .
I loved this film more the second time round . And after a fella I know had , a few days ago, sent me some of what I would have called distasteful and disturbing "hunting links " from youtube , this was a remedy muchly needed.
Thanks lads for helping me renew my faith a little .
PS ... A lil' chesnut is at 1hr.28 mins .40 ...
and the words 'the romance' and 'respect ' ... nuff said .
