"River Camo" By St Joe Joe River bows ( more pictures)
« on: October 23, 2011, 08:05:00 AM »
This has been something Tracey has been playing with since this past summer. When staining the wood with a camo pattern she follows the lines of the wood grain giving it a neat flowing pattern like a river, and like a river no two will be the same. This is another way each and every St, Joe River bow is unique.

There are two more that will be finished soon so more pictures to follow of this soon

Very nice! Reminds me of looking at a topo map, with the contour lines and floodplains. Such a basic, deep-seated part of learning to hunt an area.

That's really neat, it does tend to flow when you look at it!

We cut and plane all of our own laminations, so we can start with pretty much any lighter colored  domestic woods as long as it has a good grain lines both of the bows in picure have Whith Ash we have also done Pacific Yew that looked pretty neat
