Millionth time this question has been asked

I recently purchased a Damon Howatt Hunter RH 42# @ 28" 62amo.  I am pulling it to 28.5 so maybe 43-44lbs.  I am getting ready to order a dozen arrows.  I need to know what size I should get.  I believe I am going to need a 1916 or a 2016 if I go with Aluminums.  What do you all think.  I really am clueless when it comes to carbons.  I read where they are more durable.  If I decided to go with carbons what size would I need. Any information on what selection I should make whether it be carbon or aluminum is greatly appreciated.

probably 500 spine, I haven't used it but try Stu's spine calculator. A search for it should yield a link.

Your in the ballpark with the 1916 or a 2016 Aluminum's.

If you cut your arrows to 29.5" and use a broadhead  plus adapter weight of 150 according to the Stu calculator is a 49.5 pound spine.  The calculator for the Howatt Hunter with a fast flight comes up with a spine requirement of 60 pounds. i think that may be heavy for that bow. I would bet that the 2016 with 150 grains up front would be better than something stiffer. It is not so difficult to add a something to the side plate if a 2016 is too soft, but it harder to get a shaft that is too  stiff to behave. If your total point weight would be around 125 grains I would try the 1916 first.

I think 1916 is going to be just about right.

I shoot 2016 with 125 grain broad heads out of virtually the same set up.

Howatt Hunters have been know to draw a bit heavier than what they are labeled.

I believe either a 500 spine or 1916 is needed.

Dont mess around guessing the draw weight. Stu's  calculator can be WAY off. Believe me. Get it weighed. I use a bathroom scale and a broom. Works great.
