"Are these clothes worth the money they are asking for? "

IMO - No

I first got some Sitka last year and thought it was great compared to the 100% cotton Preditor camo I had been using. This year I bought a comparible setup of Kuiu:

Ascent vs Attack pants
Jetstream vs Guide jacket
Core vs 185 baselayer
Jetstream vs Guide vest
Traverse Zip vs 250 top

Took both sets on a 7 day elk hunt in NE Oregon this year, first couple days wore a set of Kuiu, then switched over to the Sitka for ONE day.....finished out the hunt with the Kuiu.
Without going into details, IMO, Kuiu's stuff is awesome and it's less expensive than Sitka.

Also, it's not made in China.

For what it's worth.....
