Pack In ladder stand ?

Looking for a light weight pack in ladder stand for use on public land. Rivers Edge has one on line at 33lbs. I am not familier with the company or the product. Recommendations and suggestions appreciated. 300 lb weight limit preferred. Quick, easy, one man set up a must.

best one i ever seen is lock-on ladder stand. i don't know how old they are, buy my dad has 2 and there awsome! i know you can't find them anymore. someone mite have one...light and have circular tube. all aluminum. they are really sweet. blow everyone else's away.

I also have a lock-on and love it. Stand is around 8 years old, thinking it may be time for another. Does not have a bar around it, great for bow shooting. The ones on their website are completely different. Roy

I have the lock-on too, tubular aluminum, and would buy another one if they were still made. I bought mine the first year they came out, 1983 I think. The original binders were bad, and were replaced with better ones. The first year they had no brace from the ladder to the tree, but one was added the next year. I don't know how long they were on the market, but I think maybe they were too lightly built for magnum-sized hunters. Mine weighs only 20#. Right now it's set up in a prime funnel up in MO, waiting for me and the rut.

I have a cheaper collapsable metal lean up that I use on public land...I had my uncle weld on an axle and two big plastic lawnmower wheels and I can break it down and roll it anywhere! This is a great idea for the monetarily challenged like myself!!

I picked up a Leverage this year.  I don't use it for packing but you certainly could.  It is a really nice stand, but even unextended it is pretty large.  I use a LW climber for portable hunts, but the Leverage is a very nice stand once it's up.  A good molle harness set up would make the Leverage an attractive alternative, but definitely louder to set up than a climber.

Several years ago Loggy Bayou made a 15' ladder stand that weighed 33 lbs.  I have used it numerous times as a pack in/out stand.  I bought a pair of those inserts for the bottom that have articulaing pads and adjustable heights so that you can level the ladder without it sinking in the mud.

The loc-on ladder stand is no longer built and nearly impossible to find second hand. The leverage is just out of my price range. I like the idea of having wheels added to a ladder stand frame (aka dixiearcher). Will have to investigate that after the season. Has anyone used or even seen the RiverEdge Pac-In ladder stand? I do not consider 33# light but I can also drop weight by eliminating a section. Input appreciated.

This is interesting. For a one person set-up, I would like to try the Ladderstand Second Man I've seen advertized along with a light ladder stand.

I saw a guy with the one that the legs telascope down,It looked very awkward and cumbersome on his back. It looked like he needed a 4ft wide path trimmed 9ft high for him to walk down without it hitting anything.

that leverage stand is only twelve foot too I believe, something to consider.

I just flip the main seat section over ( one section of ladder still attached)  and pull it like a sled with the other sections & pack tied on with bungee cords. These have arm rails which help sliding. Can take the whole unit in or out myself.

I built a two piece ladder stand that the sections slid together making it 15 Ft high, when locked together for transport it was just under 8 Ft. Just right for my pickup bed. I put two ten inch wheels on the end for easy transport into the woods and easy transport for a deer out.
