Question about TX hog hunting.

Me and a buddy want to head to TX to do some hog hunting next year we plan on staying for about a week.. I just had a few questions.
1. Where is a good population of them?
2. How do you get on the land to hunt them? Do ranchers allow people to camp on their land if they're shooting hogs? Can you camp on public land? How would you go about asking a rancher to camp on his land?

First of all most land in Texas is private. Tresspass fees are normal and on hunting operations you pay as you go.
There are some public lands that can be had but few and far between.

Where in Texas are you planning to bowhunt feral hogs?
Out in far west Texas, you won't find too many hogs, but south Texas, central Texas, southeast Texas, east Texas, northeast Texas, etc; there's lots of feral hogs.
