I have been hunting hard last 2 weeks, Rut here in S/C Ky will likely peak this weekend while guns season opens. I was coming off the mountain where the facility I work at is tonight and a big 10pt. jumped out in front of me and froze at about 20ft. I slammed on the brakes but was going about 40mph when I hit him, made me sick. he was about 120 inch beautiful buck, broke his legs up, knocked him about 150 ft. down the road, he made it off the road into some vines and that was it. He bounced off the guardrail twice, man I hated that this happened. Luckily, only hurt the bumper cove on my Nissan. I had to get on home, could not wait for the game warden to get there, I told another guy to call them and he could have the deer. Ten miles down the road, nearly clipped another 6 pt. did the same thing bounced out in the road and froze! I drove 40-45 mph the rest of the way home. Everyone be careful driving next few days, and get in the woods every time you can.
