I can appreciate all the exotic hardwoods bowyers use, but my preference is still for the domestic hardwoods such as maple (curly, quilted, & birdseye), walnut, and black cherry.  

Two Tracks nailed it on that one!

Chuck, I know guys who would give $800 - $1200 for that piece of walnut big enough to get a shotgun stock out of it   :)  

So when are you going to make an Ambush (or Sneaky Pete) in a 54" that likes a 29+" draw?
