Was wondering... Anybody here pheasant hunt with their bows. I'm getting some flu-flu's made, just not sure what type of tip to go with.
Any suggestions or pros & cons?

Having just shot at pheasant last Friday I'd recommend a pointed but dull broadhead with one of those star type blunt rings behind the broadhead. If an arrow is still in the bird don't allow the dogs to retrieve. I saw a blunt bounce off the wing of a bird. Use something that will penetrate.

We hunt with dogs. Was planning on shooting after the flush. May not get much but air, but just sounded really fun. Last few years been hunting them with an old mule ear double barrell that was my great grandfathers. Decided to retire it until my boys are my age. I'm 39.

A Snuffer dulled on a grinder would be fine for dogs....least the guy we hunted with didn't mind our mod 4 blades that were dulled with the point clipped.

Can't use broadheads on the hunts I went because of possible injuries to the dogs but had good results with the 3 rivers "Hammer" and G5 three point small game head.

Friday we had a pheasant fly about 100 yards with a broadhead in it. The arrow was sticking out like an extra long tail feather. My Brit was hot on it but I called her off (like she was gonna listen with a bird in her sights). That broadhead was a sharp one. I yelled for the guys to keep her off it. They recovered the bird.

Have always used magnus two-blade. Hunting with a dog has not been an issue. Good luck.

I have ace hex head blunts on my flu flu's, but I have yet to connect. I would imagine that they'll work. They popped the football my son was throwing for practice. If hunting over dog's I would suggest not using broadheads. That's just my opinion though.

I have taken several using a standard target point on flu-flu. Need a good solid hit to bring them down. I have knocked feathers off of several and have seen them fly away with the arrow of not a solid mid body hit. We can not use broadhead in the area I hunt.

I'd like to make sure everyone that's reading this did get that our heads were DULLED with a grinder and the points were cut back and flat ground also. There were NO sharp points or edges.
