Holes in a torges seat?

Where do I drill the holes in my seat, is half way enough or should it be more towards the front? How far from the edges?

I put mine right at the mid-point, but forward will be better than further back. About 1" in. Leave at least as much from the wood edge to the hole edge as your seat is thick, or a tad more. The way the rope catches on the tree will pretty much automatically accomidate the middle 1/3 region.

At 12" deep I go more toward the front. Anything over that I like to stay about 11in. from the back.
A few guys have asked how I do my knots. Holds well and adjusts quickly.
