Help With Stus Calculator
« on: December 01, 2011, 07:10:00 PM »
I don't know how to download or use the calculator, can somebody maybe type in this information for me or just help me out. I just bought a 66 pound at 28 inch critter gitter. I draw a full 28 and want to shoot 145 grizzlys. My feathers are 5 inch. All my other bows are in between 50 and 55 and I've been shooting 55 60's out of them with a 125 grains heads and they shoot great, what I also don't get is they shoot perfect out of the 66 pound bow. Can someone help?

You don't have to download anything just scoll down the page and you will find a link that takes you to the calculator. As far as your arrows they sound overspined for your 50-55 pound bows but close to your 66 lb. critter gitter.

Wood 29" arrow with 145 grain head I would say 80-85# spine would have ya darn close, you may get away with 75-80# spine. I also have to disagree about your 55-60's out of the other bows being overspined, even if they are LBs. The old rule is add 10#s to bows weight for modern LB and than add 5#s of spine for every inch over 28"s in arrow length and 5 more #s of spine for every 25 grains over 125 grains of point weight. Arrow by Kelly had one of the best spine charts for wod arrows ever devised. Shawn

Just did a little research, computers allow you to be super fast and if you draw 28"s and shoot a 29" woodie, than 75-80# spine with that 145 should shoot about perfect out of your new bow. Shawn

Sorry misread your post and thought it said 45 60 arrows which would indicate a carbon shaft. My apologies.
