"Do it yourself Black Bear Baiting& Hunting" by Dr. Ken Nordberg, published by Shingle Creek Outdoor Productions, Minneapolis, Is the best one I've come across for do-it-yourself hunting.

"Bear Hunting in Alaska" by Tony Russ is a good one, it's pretty complete and is about hunting browns and grizzlies.  His sheep hunting books are excellent by the way.

A great read is "Last of the Great Brown Bear Men" by Marvin Clark.  It was written over 30 years ago, and unfortunately I haven't seen my copy in probably 25 years...  It's about Pinnell and Talifson, 2 famous old-time Kodiak brown bear guides. Lots of great hunting stories and pics of huge, dead, brown bears.

"Bears" by Ben East is just one of the many books by the author about hunting and behavior. Ben East, who passed away in 1990 was a fine author with much knowledge of bears and hunting them. "He writes with an easy, very readable and entertaining style, with many anecdotes of bear behavior, bear hunting and even bear attacks that will cause you to read and re-read this book for years. Just as I have. Very highly recommended."

Education of a Bear Hunter by Ralph Flowers. Also Of Bears and Flowers. Ralph was a prolific bear hunter in Washington state mid-century  and in later years spent much of his life studying bears rather than shooting them.

Best I ever saw was written by Colorado Division of Wildlfe bear biologist Tom Beck.  You should be able to get the book by contacting the Colorado DOW.  Not really a how to hunt book but how they behave at various times of the year.  The how to hunt part is pretty easy to figure out once you understand how they behave.

It is Colorado specific, but there is still a bunch of great info there.
