I suppose your "decent price" is a subjective thing.

I have a Widow PSR (short recurve) and it comes standard with their longbow grip.  One can also specify another type grip if they wish.

I suggest finding a favorite recurve or hybrid at your price and try to work with the bowyer to make a grip to your liking.

Great Northern Ghost recurve with the straight grip is an excellent bow and my favorite in that configuration.  Lots of Bowyers make hybrids with "longbow" grips.  Check their web sites and the ads posted on this site.

Hey Guys,

I'm shooting a Tomahawk (3Rivers) reflex-deflex with a longbow handle.  I bought it here on Trad-gang.  One of the guys here offered it at a significant price reduction, and it arrived in almost new condition.... one small scuff you would have to look for to find.

The Horne Combo hunter has a longbow type grip and recurve limbs. I think there are a couple in the classified section right now.

Roy Hall from Navajo Archery makes a really good R/D hybrid longbow with a longbow handle both in one piece and three piece takedown.  I believe he is somewhere in the $500-$600 range.  Super guy with great service!

I have an Ancient Spirits Thunderhawk SLM that I picked up from JD a couple weeks ago that I cant put down. It's a 64" recurve with Thunderhawk limbs and a Sequioa grip. 58@28. One heckuva bow. It shoots a 575 grain arrow with almost no drop at 28 yards.  I'll try to get picks but havent been able to do that for a while.

Kota Killum! An outstanding recurve bow with a traditional (longbow) grip. I love mine!

 http://www.kotabows.com/kill-um.htm

At $475 they are very resonably priced.

They are very fast for the poundage.

The only thing I have found that I didn't like was it is a bit noisy, but I was used to my longbow, so maybe it's not so bad for a recurve. Yarn puffs and recurve sized Limbsavers took care of the noise, so now there is nothing I don't like about the bow!
