Get some bowyers to send you bows to try. Just because I like a particular bow does not mean it will work for you. That's the main reason there are so many. Go to a show, do some trials etc.

Another vote for BamaBows.

A J D Berry, its a bow that not only looks good, it's a bow that shoots the way a longbow should shoot.

Call Steve Turay at Northern Mist or Dan Toelke at Montana bows. Can't go wrong with either in my opinion.

I can't believe I havn't seen anyone mention Wes Wallace Royal longbows. I have 3 and love them. As good performance as any and you couldn't find a better guy to deal with. But as Bjorn said, very personal thing to do. I could pick out another woman for you too but probably have different ideas about that too. Take your time and go to the used market and enjoy the ride. You will definately start to form your own opinion as to what you like better. A lot of great bowyers out there. I sold a Dwyer that I will forever regret. Sold it with a clause that if he were to ever sell it, I get first dibs. I will hold him to it!

Check out Bigfoot bows. I have a Yeti and it's a nice shooting bow. Kirk has a nice line of bows and you can try before you buy, which is nice.

I'm looking toward a Bama bow myself, but a two piece.  My favoruite bowyers no longer craft; Earl Hoyt Jr and Jim Ploen and Buddy Stamper.

There are a ton of VERY talented bowyers out there and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the current suggestions.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Not a chance Ken! You sold it fair and square!  Following the thread, I'll throw in my two cents for a Dwyer.

There's lots of fantastic bowyers out there and many people have their favorites.

In my opinion, you won't find a better bowyer or a better bowyer to work with than Dan Toelke.

I'd strongly suggest you try a 64" Whip.

I'd like to add Big River bows. John McDonald
Steve Turay @ northern Mist also makes a fine bow.
