:(     :(  Tennis elbow in my left arm has me unable to draw even my lightest poundage bows without real pain.

Splitting to much firewood in one day can really wreak havoc on the joints.

Sorry for whining, just needed to vent I guess.

Getting older bites for sure but the alternative is worse. Just take things slower and you will be better for it.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Same thing in my left elbow...just getting over it.

I am prone to the same thing for exactly the same reasons. I am very careful about flinging firewood now.

Start doing grip exercises with that hand.  It's helped me om three occassions. Works. Try it and at first hurts a bit.  My pain has gone away in 3-4 weeks. I just did it several times a day, just watching tv and so on.

I just started shooting again about a week ago after hurting my elbow tendon Sept 24th.  I messed mine up helping my dad trim some trees.  First time its ever happened to me. When it first happened, I couldn't even pick up a bottle of water without pain in my elbow. I missed all of archery season and was pretty bummed about it for a week or so. I have been wearing a Futuro brand elbow brace, it seems to help. According to the internet and my doctor, tendons are slow to heal.  Just give it time to heal, don't over do it.  Tennis elbow sucks, I know your pain.

Thanks for all the kind words, and advice.

I think I will try those grip exercises. I know I need to rest it but with my line of work it might be tough.

Go see a chiropractor. My wifes elbow flared up last spring tossing firewood. Chiropractor manipulated her elbow and it went right away. I, on the other hand, battled tennis elboe for well over a year to the point I had to have surgery.

My wifes was after my surgery, and she mentioned it to the chiropractor one day when she was in there, and he fixed it right up. Worth a shot. I wish I had thought of it efore mine got so bad.

I would need to vent also.  Sorry  to hear.  Quick recovery to you.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I have had tennis elbow on both sides.....I had therapy and in about 2 weeks I was good to go.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki
