Brace Height???
« on: July 17, 2007, 12:56:00 PM »
I bought a Dale Sandford Winterwind Teton recurve from a friend of mine and just replaced the string. Would any one here know the proper brace height to set the string at? This bow is 62" 46lbs at 28"

No experience with that bow, but most recurves brace high. Start at 7.5" and take it down until you get string slap on your armguard, then back up until it quits. You're likely looking 7-7.5". Have fun. dave

I like work from the other end. I like to start low...maybe 6-6 1/2, then go up unil i get no arm contact and it starts to quiet down. The I add silencers and start mt bareshafting
