Use it as is. Wipe it on and wipe on poly over it. Throw the dauber away and use a piece of old T shirt. Oh yeah wear rubber gloves.    :bigsmyl:

It works as stated above, but the only thing I'll use now are the dyes sold by Larry Maggard and Mike Yancy. That stuff is the bomb.

I thin fiebings with denatured alcohol with no problem.  70% or 91% might work, but remember that the dye is alcohol based and the remaining 30% and 9% are water!

Given enough time it will fade on wood.  Used it on a riser and it faded but did take quite a long time.  OTOH, the bow spent most of it's life in a fairly dark room!

I suspect that the color will outlast your arrows.

The Behlen Solar-Lux is a liquid dye for wood, non-grain raising alcohol based.  I've used it for years in the making of guitars.  Makes the grain JUMP out of the wood.  About the same cost as the others.  Not real well known to archers - the stuff rocks!!

maybe next time ill try the solor-lux. i got the fiebings so ill use it on a few shafts see how it works. i got so much stuff in the last few months. its all comming together pretty good.
now i just need to put it all together and go let them fly. really glad i decided to buy the stuff to make my own arrows. in the begining the cost is a bit more than a good set of arrows. i just cant come up with 80+ bucks at once for anything it seems. but the reward of shooting the arrows you made is well.  :archer2:
a great feeling and worth every penny i think.
