Kudo's to David Miller!
« on: December 15, 2011, 02:50:00 PM »
I called David this morning to ask about his bows and to get some more information about HH style bows.  He spent 30 minutes patiently answering my newbie questions and we talked about everything from Howard Hill, bow making, shooting methods, arrows, etc.  It was an eye opening experience for me.  I have never had a bowyer spend so much time talking to me about the sport.

You can definitely tell David has a true passion for archery and is extremely eager to share it with everyone.

Needless to say, after much discussion on what bows I have and what I was looking for, I ordered a Old Tom string follow 64" 46#'s @ 26.

The next 8 months is going to take forever.  For those of you wondering about HH style bows or are looking to get more information on them, I highly recommend speaking to David.

Thanks again David and it was a pleasure speaking to you today sir!

Bill

We are fortunate to have so many great bowyers available to us today. Excellent Hill-style bows are being crafted by the likes of David Miller, Craig and Jason Ekin, Steve Turay, Nate Steen, and several others whose names elude me at the moment.

I just received my new-to-me Northern Mist Shelton, which is a straight grip, string follow, HH style bow as well. My first impressions of it are that it is an awesome shooter and as well crafted a bow as I have seen. It is smooth, quiet and plenty fast.

I don't envy you your wait, Bill. From the time I bid on my Shelton until I had it in my hands was only about two weeks, but I was on pins and needles the whole time.

Makes a great bow, and is very knowledgeable. I own several and love the way they shoot. However there is a +/- to talking with the bowyer, we learn and the delivery dates keep getting longer and longer and longer. In the end they have to raise their prices.  :dunno:

My "Old Tom" 66" 52@28 has been my "go-to" bow this hunting season for all of the reasons already mentioned.

Like Ric O'Shay I am also watching the calender for one of David's Expeditions (66" string follow, green glass on the back and white for the belly) 46@28 and named "Eternity".

God bless,Mudd
