I would think the Arroyo, I say this as it has a static limb design which I find always makes a bow super smooth. It is almost like they have a let-ff. I shoot a 54" Arroyo and it is as smooth as any bow I have ever shot, including some 64" longbows. It will  outperform the king panther as well! Shawn

Have not shot the King Panther, but continue to drool everytime I see a picture of one!  I own a 62" Arroyo, and it's very smooth, quiet and FAST.  Excellent workmanship, excellent customer service and you won't find nicer people on this earth to buy a bow from than Kevin and Sue Termatt.  The static limb is unique in that you'd think with all that speed it would be unstable, but just the opposite is true; it's a very forgiving shooter.

Well Brandon makes a great bow. Never shot one but heard they are great shooters. And I know that the Arroyo shoots very well and is fast.Smooth is the Arroyos middle name.Workmanship,on both bows are top notch as are the bowyers. JMHO ><>

I'm interested to see the responses to this thread. I'm a takedown guy and had it down to an RER or a Rose oak wildcat and ended up ordering an RER back in May. Has anyone actually measured the performance of each as there was an article in TBM last fall and the Rose Oak performance was impressive. Not sure if it is quite as fast as the RER, but based on what I read, I think it would be close.

Can anyone comment on this?

I am sure they both shoot within a few FPS to each other.RER has static tips so it might have a slight edge. But talking with Brandon I know he would not build a slow bow.<><

Yup it would be close but I like Frank said believe the RER would have a slight advantage. I just really like the design and a shorter bow, these Arroyo's draw like a bow much longer in length. I shoot the 54"er and can honestly say out to 29"s it is smoother than any bow I have shot. Shawn

My friend built a shooting machine a while back and we ran some bows through it. All the bows were set up to the manufacturers specs as far as brace height. The machine released at exactly 26 1/4" from the inside of the grip, which is a 28" draw. I put my Rose Oak wildcat to the test. It's 60" 54#@28" and had a brace height of 7 3/4" with a 16 strand D97 mountain muffler string which has large wool silencers on it. We shot a 540 grn arrow out of it 3 times and it got 180-181fps. Folks this is as fast as a glass limbed recurve will shoot a 10 grn per pound arrow. My friends carbon backed recurve with an aggresive limb angle shot 190fps. with a bare string and no silencers and a 6 3/8" brace height and he is known to make one of the fastest recurves around. All the top recurves will shoot similar speed wise, there's only so much that can be done with conventional design. By the way my bow has the fancy ebony and zebrawood wavy veneers which could have hurt it a few fps. I've never shot a RER bow but I do know that Brandon makes one of the best bows around for the money and offers options that no one else currently offers. Not to mention his wait time is very reasonable, usually a few months. Mike

I haven't shot either, but both look great. Both have great reviews. So, I'm guessing it boils down to personal preference.

Just the idea of one verses the other is a testament that both are great choices.   ;)

Thanks Mike I knew you would come along soon. Anyone who has narrowed down there choices on what bows they like should try and shoot both and then decide which one to get. Or buy and sell bows until they find one they like  :bigsmyl: . Doing it this is aloota fun BTW..<><

Frank, I love one piece recurves and will own an RER arroyo someday. A man can never have enough bows. Mike

I have had the 62 inch arroyo and a 64 in King Panther.Let me say both these bows are smooth and stable and forgiving and perform. Both are excellantly crafted
It would be hard to pick one over the other. Its apples and ornges.
I draw 30 in. or a bit more.noticed no stack on the arroyo. Here is some numbers on the draw force curve of my King panther those last inches.27 inches=44.3 #s,28 in=46.3,29 in=48.4 #s,30 in=51#s,31 in=53.4#s,32=56.2#s.You can see its very smooth.I shot it with a 12 strand 8125 endless with 2020s cut to 31 inches and around 625 grains and its fast no doubt and displays excellant manners. The riser and grip is highly curvacious and exquisitly sculpted and puts the arrow right over your hand. The arrow shelf wraps right over the fat of your hand like a Dale dye bow for a secure, comfortable feel.Very sweet indeed!Fit and finish is top shelf. Its good to see a new and young talented bowyer on the scene.Should be around for along time to come.
Tough call.Should be pleased with either bow.Just make sure you get the grip right on the bow you choose to suit you.
