snake skins on bow????

Sorry if this may  a dumb question , but never know till I ask..How well does the skins hold up? I mean are they easy to mess up, say like waking through brush?? Thanks ahead for the replies...

scales are removed and they are covered by finish so they are no more susceptible to bang up than wood or carbon.
