What is a Holmes longbow worth?
« on: December 23, 2011, 02:08:00 AM »
My father has a Holmes Longbow. Its a slightly R/D. Strings up pretty close to a true D Shape. Its osage riser, and what appears to be maple or hickory limbs. He is planning on selling it and I'm trying to decide what would be fair to offer him. He said it is the same Holmes that made the Shrew Bows to start. If it has changed back and we are not supposed to ask these questions feel free to delete this thread.

Tough call these days in this economy,I had a Holmes short flatbow like the early Shrews.I paid $150 for it a couple of years back.I would guess anywhere from $150 to maybe $225 depending on condition.I seen an early Shrew on the big auction site awhile back,it didn't hit it's reserve at $200.Bow prices are down unless it is a highly sought after bow and sometimes even those bows depending on draw weight.
