Delta/No Mercy/Eskimo???

I recently found my grandfathers 1973 Indian Archery Hawkeye Recurve, 50#s at 28 inches, I am currently shooting 3 Bear Camo 2117's, not sure how much they weigh exactly, need to take them to the traditional shop in Des Moines to get them weighed. With this setup and minimal knowledge, what would you guys recommend for a 2 blade Zwickey product? I was leaning towards the Delta, but the wider profile makes me wonder if I have enough power to get the pass thru penetration on whitetails that I am looking for? Any pictures to back up your choice of Zwickey heads would b appreciated!

This Delta went completely through this guy at 22 yards...



...from my 46# Kanati. Get them good and sharp and put them through the boiler room. With a 50# bow, you should have no problems. I used a 100 grain steel adapter behind the Delta and a Beman ICS Bowhunter 500. Total weight was 518 grains.

If you use the 100 grain adapters with your 2117, your total weight should be higher I would think. I'm not sure the weight of 2117s but my 2016s are heavier than my carbons.

For about 20 bucks plus shipping, you can get a digital scale from 3Rivers Archery. That will save you lots of trips to Des Moines. It also really helps when you are tuning. One of my best investments.

Any of them will work fine for whitetails and most other game with that poundage bow.

Agree,  it is a personal preference thing.  All are fine heads capable of killing all North American game. .  including WT deer.

Zwickey eskimo has never let me down I use a
125gr on a 50lb recurve and got a pass thru my last bear and no problems with deer too.

At that weight for deer I'd shoot the Delta.  Might as well cut 'em cause they're not hard to shoot through.

The Delta did it's job on this guy. 50# @ 30" Hill style bow.

You have plenty of power with that set up your shooting.

Once I bent the tip a little on a Delta.  It hit a rock after passing thru a whitetail doe.  That was with a 48# bear recurve.

Zwickey Delta is my #1 broadhead of choice.

Delta for me, all I lacked stickin one in the dirt on this bigbodied buck was probably 1/4" of draw! LOL

The arrow fell out the other side as soon as he took off...




Any of em will work on whitetails.
