Arrow help please

I recently bought my first recurve...a 56" 48# bear grizzly. I am looking to buy some easton gamegetter arrows but would like some advice from the more seasoned guys before i do so. My draw length is 28.25", and i would like to shoot a 125 grain head. By looking at the spine charts it is saying i need a .400 spine....but its right on the edge of both the .500 and .400. So if i was to cut em to about 30 inches and use a 125 head....what is the better option for me? And if 30" is to short..maybe long....im new to the game and dont want to waste to much money on the wrong thing.

If it was me,  I'd go with the 2016s (.500)

The .400 spine will be too stiff. go with the .500 spine. Shafts that might be best would be Gold Tip 3555 or even a 1535.A carbon Express Heritage 150 might also work. But, be careful, do not cut the shafts too short as they will be stiff.

I agree with the .500s.  Start long and trim them dow a little at a time until you get the best arrow flight.

2016 sounds in line to me they should be fine

The best way I found to make sure I am getting the "best" arrow is to make a trip to your local archery shop (traditional if you have one) and buy 1 arrow of each (.500 spine as suggested) and have them trimmed down bit by bit until you have the best arrow flight. This may take some time, but you will be much happier at the end of the day. Good luck and have fun.

2016 will shoot good and I throw in a 1916 it may surprise you.

I draw 28.5" and shoot a 29.5" arrow. I shot 2016's out of anything from 45# to 50# with 125 grains up front and they flew like darts.

 I'd say these fellers got you heading on the right road. I don't think .5" arrow length is gonna show you much of a noticeable difference but I would start with them a little longer when tuning. You can cut some off but you ain't putting it back.

I agree with everyone else that the .500's or the 2016's would be great for your set up.  Depending on what your after, the 2016's would be better, in my opinion, based on a couple reasons.  Considering you want to shoot 125 grain points, you will be able to get closer to the 10 grain per inch rule-of-thumb with the aluminums and you will probably be able to tune the aluminum to your bow and end up with a shorter arrow.  The shorter arrow is a plus for me because it is easier to maneuver in close confines. The carbons really get stiff when even a little is cut.
