Looking for help fixing a bow
« on: January 01, 2012, 07:24:00 PM »
Perhaps this post belongs in the Bowyer's Bench(?), but as I am not a bowyer showing off my handiwork, I wasn't sure.  I am looking for help in fixing a child's longbow.  My daughter was given a 15# long bow who's limbs have developed a "memory".  I'd like to know what I can do to straighten the limbs. It is not a priceless heirloom by any means, but If I can, I'd like to fix it.

Is the bow glass backed or all wood.

A picture would help.

not glass backed.  The belly of the bow is a dark red/orange colored wood and the back is a much lighter (white) wood. It appears to have a light coat of satin varnish.
