OK everyone, I started my Trad hunting today. Passed a spike at 11 yards and a 4 point at 15 yards.  I don't shoot small bucks on any of my farms. It was a great experience.  I was shaking like crazy when I saw the legs coming. It was like my first deer hunt all over again. WOW what a rush!!!

Awesome! It probably wouldn't hurt to draw on and pick a spot on the deer you let pass, if you can get away with it. i have done that before and it seems to really help when a shooter does come in..... just be careful, I have ended up drilling deer I was planning on passing without ever thinking about it! Just saw my sight picture and the arrow was away!
I just saw you e-mailed me and I shot one back to you

Well I couldn't hunt tonight since we were throwing a surprise birthday party for my grandmother.  She turned 84.  Bit before I could leave the house I looked over in my neighbors yard and a big red fox was walking by. He just had a fox kill all of his laying hens at the beginning of this week. I went to my truck and started to grab my compound. My Recurve was on too of it. I grabbed it and 2 arrows. I walked across the street towards.the fox. When I got to about 20a yards I drew and let one fly. It was instinct.  The arrow flee true and pinned his shoulders together. He flipped over and rolled off the arrow.  He took off but didn't make it far. I was so stoked. My confidence is building. The fox was walking and I still drilled him. Now I can't wait for a deer....

I wanted to badly but he died behind some houses along the field edge. I was pushing it by walking across the street and shooting the thing anyway!  I am kinda new to this development and I don't want anybody freaking out.  I couldn't believe how excited I was that I smoked him.  My wife was laughing at me!  Now she keeps calling me Indian boy.

Well, I missed a doe today!! I am not mad, just disapointed. The limb of my bow hit my leg after I released. I watched the arrow hit the ground right between the deers legs. Oh well, I did see 10 deer. I actually had bucks chasing does tonight. Also I had a wallhanger step out at 30 yards and walk right at me. He turned back into the pines around 20 yards. He was following a doe I had seen do the same thing. What and exciting hunt.

I missed 4 does before I killed my first two this year. Good luck. Keep at it.
