Will brass inserts actually fit a 2117? I've used them for carbons, but not aluminum shafts.

If so, you will need to remove the original insert and replace it with the brass one.

We do not know.

We do not know your draw length and the actual poundage you are pulling.

We do not know if you are right or left handed.

We do not know what weight your points are.

But we sure as heck have opinions!!

You are way over spined no matter whether you are right or left handed (unless you have a really long draw length). Sell them and get the 2016's.

After 30 years of marriage she just says "Pick something out of your archery catalog for Xmas and I will get something I want at Kolhs and that will be our Xmas shopping for each other." Not romantic, but you get the right arrow shafts. Enjoy the romance while it lasts

I'm shooting 50 lbs @ 28.-28.5 right handed, shooting 125 grain tips and judos, 160 grain screw in Zwockey Delta's or Eskimo's, not sure which on ill go with yet but I love the look of the Zwickey broadheads, just screams traditional to me  :)  still hunting with my wheel bow, not quite ready to hunt with the recurve, but ill b damned if I won't be by Spring turkey  :)

I've shot them out of my 45# Samick Sage recurve, 30" long with 145 points, and they seem to shoot fine as well.  Can't really tell a difference between them and the 2016s, but my shooting skills are still kind of new, though.

Iowa, I just got to measure them and unfortunately they are 27 1/2", I haven't used them in a long time and didn't remember their length. I am sorry for getting you hopes up.

Sell them and get the right spined shafts. They'll look the same, just with a different number. How will your wife know the difference? Did you tell her to order the right shaft size or did she go to the dealer and asked him for a guess?
Having the wrong shafts is like going shotgunning with a 20gauge using 12 gauge shells :-))

I got a great idea...Tell her "Thanks, honey!  It means the world to me that you would think enough of me to buy these arrows!"  and then explain to her gently why they won't work and why you are going to sell or trade them to get the right ones.

You can do that, or you can find a place to put them that is big enough to put the ones she is going to get you for your birthday too...  :D

I called the customer service dept, they agreed to let me send in the 11 arrows (i had put a nock and insert in one) and they would send me the correct spine! She was really cool about it, I had mentioned possibly getting a heavier poundage bow to shoot the heavier arrows, that one didn't work as well haha! She agreed to let me use the extra cash I save after I quit smoking these damn cigarettes to buy "anymore Bowhunting stuff your heart desires" lol

The company that sent them to me agreed to have me send back the 11 arrows, nocks, and inserts and they will refund the purchase, after that is done (already sent them back, out about 11 bucks for shipping, plus whatever the shipping back to me is) I will have my very own set of traditional arrows! In the meantime I have 1 arrow that is over spined, going to try and make a flu flu out of it for fun! I am using my grandfathers Hawkeye recurve, recently bought a great northern bow quiver, will get some pics up after I receive the arrows and get them all done up!
