59 kodiak question
« on: January 14, 2012, 09:54:00 PM »
Hi everyone, I have read all the threads on dating bear bows and know quite a bit about them, but I recently got a 59 kodiak marked BG409 60" 52# B. that B. is right under the poundage and is the thing I can't underatnd the meaning of? Also looking to have it refinished, is the bow doc still doing these or who do you recommend? Thnaks Dan

Someone will jump in I'm sure ,but you get a quicker response over on the History and collecting forum. I wish I could help!

Doc is the guy for the refinishing. The letter under the serial is a subject of some folklore and generally agreed to be the initial of the inspector on duty when the bow got numbered and inspected.
Now; the rules around here state that you can't talk about your new bow without showing some pics.
