Ben Pearson made a lot of great bows. The length of the bow and the weight of the bow are a great combination. If there is no twist it would be a great bow. There are a few people that can take a twist out that can be found on this site. I would say that if the price is good you can't go wrong.

Killed my first trad deer in 1968 with a Pearson Hunter. Still have it and another one just like it. Pretty decent bows.

I have been bowfishing with a Pearson Special.  It's a very nice bow.

40 bucks can be a good price depending on condition.

Nice find.  I love working old bows!

I really like Ben Pearson bows, I have several and they have all been good shooters for me.  I have a 7090 hunter that's 58" 42# @ 28 that I refinished and really like.

Killed my first deer with a Pearson too, still is a good shooter after all these years. Bought it new back in 73, gave it to a friend who wanted to try Trad last year, so far he really likes it.

You can't go wrong for $40. I've shot alot of Pearsons and I like them, I'm sure you will be pleased. Still have six or eight of them and one is my go to bow.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

My first bow was a Pearson Hunter I bought new in 1967 and killed my first archery buck with it in 1968. Still have it, 58" @ 47#.
