Guys, you have to remember, these pants were designed for mountain hunting. Lightweight and durable for the on-the-move type hunter.
But, do they do "crossover" and make a great all around hunting pant? You bet!! The best I've ever worn!
When I was trying the proto-type Attack(before the were even had a name)pant in TX, I ran them through more terrible stickers and briars than you could imagine tracking hogs and deer.
Did they come out pulled? You bet they did, but no rips, tears, and the integrity of the pant was just fine...they just had pulls.
Truthfully though, they were out of their element in those sticker bushes, they were exposed to a beating that was a bit much for any pant really. But, Jason wanted me to test them out and not go easy on anything I was wearing.
Briars and stickers are the mortal enemy of the Attack pant no doubt...but aren't they of any pant unless specifcally deisgned not to be?
Now the soon to be released Guide Pant will be a much "tougher" pant. They will tend to shed briars a little better and won't pull as easy(if at all) as the stretch-weave material in the Attack pant.
Same material as the Guide Jacket, and will make an awesome pant for cooler/colder weather hunting.
Bernie,
As far as fit....I own every piece of clothing KUIU makes and all have been very, very true to size.
Only thing....if you have a big head, or don't like a snug fit in your headgear, the Guide Beanie might not be for you.
Other than that, if you plan on layering for very cold weather you might want to bump up one size to allow for extra layering.
