Anniversary Deer Hunt
« on: January 28, 2012, 08:42:00 AM »
I'm writing this on behalf of my brother, Ed Pitchkites.  Some on this board are familiar with Ed and his book which he wrote several years ago.  I thought you might be interested in knowing that he bagged a deer in 2011; 60 years after he bagged a deer the first year bow hunters were allowed to hunt in Indiana. He used the same equipment (long bow & arrows from 1951) he used 60 years ago. Once I figure out how to post a picture on this site, I will do so.  My brother does not use a computer, thus my writing on his behalf.  I'll check this site for any comments and send them along to him.

I seen the picture from another thread on here someone else had posted. I’ll look and see if I can find it and post the link.  Very cool indeed!

Tell Mr. Ed Congrats, from the Redneck, from Alabama.
A few years ago a bunch of us sent him B'Day cards, and he responded, to everyone , I think.  He was quite suprized, as he didn't know most of us.
Good to hear he's going strong.

Nice story!Congrats!
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

That's inspiration right there!
I plan to hunt until I die, although one never knows...
Good to know others are doing it.

Thank you, adeeden, for sharing the link which had the picture of my brother, Ed.  It saved me from spending time figuring out how to post pictures.   He would love hearing from his fellow archers.  I wish he used a computer.  He would enjoy visiting this site.  Here is Ed's address: Ed Pitchkites, 15434 E. 200 S., Clinton, Indiana 47842.  I've printed out the responses on this site and will mail them to him this week.  Thanks for remembering my brother. He IS one of a kind!
