mirror trick?
« on: July 22, 2007, 02:25:00 AM »
when I asked the guy fom southafrica that I will be hunting with next year if I could use a bow, he said yes, and then asked if I used a mirror, I was confused, he said that a local bowhunter has a big mirror with a small slit in it that he uses to get close to game, has anyone else even heard of this?,btw, I am going there next year with my dad for impala and warthog with a bow and springbok with a rifle, we will hunting out of a campsite, no fancy safari lodges for me

I saw a ad on the mens outdoor chanel about "new camo"and it showed a hunter walking towards  a deer behind what looked like a big shield. It had a mirror on the front that reflected the ground cover in front of it. sorry that is all I know. Did not bother to get the name of this product.

As Jmatt said, it is a flat 30" x 50" portable blind that reflects the surrounding terrain. It's called the Stalker Shield Mirror Blind; I'm looking at an advertisement for it right now. I don't know if it is okay to mention the catalog here since they are not a sponsor.
