Bow Hush is the best I've found to silence string slap. Easy to apply as well.

I would third wd40 and suspect "remoil" and other petroleum distillate-based lubricants on a paper towel will remove the adhesive residue in short order. I don't know of a bow finish they would harm and a good rubbing with a dry paper towel is clean-up.

I find that the self adhesive felt in HD and other stores is the easiest and quietest way to fab up adjustable rests and side plates.  You can shape it with a sharp knife and its slightly spongy and quiet.  I use it on metal ILF risers, lets you tune an off the shelf system, where there is no radius on the shelf or side plate.

Been there, done that a long time ago. Lesson learned, "never again".

How about the carpet side of velcro seems to last longer than moleskin.

You know I was shooting tonight, and looking at the velcro on my limbs...folded up curling in the corners. NOT a good look! I think its time to try bow hush that looks like the ticket!
