I need some carbon arrow help

I want to buy some carbon arrows for my recurve. I have it narrowed down to GT traditional or CX Heritage. GT 3555 or CX 150. My recurve is 47#@28. I pull to 27 and I want to shoot about 250g up front. It is fast flight and I am putting a SBD string on it. I think the GT are 500spine and the CX are 487 spine. So they are pretty close in spine. Which would you prefer or does it really matter.

I would shoot the carbon express heritage series as I think the lighter spine will be about right for you with 250 grains up front. Also the heritage series is an incredibly tough shaft.

The GT's if they are 35/55 are 500 spine, not 400.

I dont have a lot of experience with too many of the carbon trad shafts but I do have a few heritsges and I really like them so far.

I have had good luck with the gt expeditions with a simular set up.

Yep I meant to put GT 500 spine. The 400 would be way too stiff.

My recurve and draw set up is similar to yours. Today, I tested my GT3555s with 200gr and 250gr tips @20 yds. They consistently shot too low. I think the arrows are fine but I think I'll go down to 175gr.

Depends on the bow and the cut of the riser.  I have about 6 bows all about the same as yours 48 at 18 and I draw 27 in. I shoot CE 150 cut full length with a 50 gr brass I insert and 125 gr point and they fly well out of some of my bows and not so well out of others.  I also tried some GT 3555 today for the first time at full length with same inserts and points and got them to fly well out of my Silverfip when nothing else would.  The CE's wouldn't fly for beans out of that  bow.

All I shoot are the GT's (55/75 black shafts for me) but any of the name brands in the right spine for your set-up will work just fine.

I have tried a handful of carbons, aluminum's and wood arrows. I shoot the CE heritage exclusively because I love everything about them. I shoot the 150, 250 and 350's for different bows and different uses. Very easy to tune and all parts interchange. It can't get easier. There is a post for making them bomb proof here on this site by adding footings. You might be able to use a 250 if you want a heavy arrow by adding a 100gr brass insert. I have my 350's at about 740gr with 350gr up front. I know it still depends on the bow and other variables. I use the 250's most because I shoot recurves and longbows between 55# and 60#.
