Phoenix Arizona Trad Archery Opportunities?
« on: February 11, 2012, 07:00:00 PM »
My family and I are in Phoenix for the next 5 weeks.

Does anyone know of trad archery shoot's, ranges, or non-resident hunting opportunities?

Thanks,

J.O.

Usery mtn. Regional park (north of mesa) has an awesome range. The 3d course is tough on arrows. The animal target course is m my favorite (burlap), its a great hike as well. There is a bullseye course too.

My friend says the Ben Avery range (north phx) is good too but I've never shot it.

Archery headquarters (chandler) has an indoor range and the dart system is fun.

Enjoy your visit.

Oh yeah, about the only thing in season is rabbit. Jacks and cottontails are plentiful, it's still a bit early for snakes to be out but it has been warm out so watch your step. Coyote and mtn.lion are open year round.

You can check on the leftover tags for the javalina general season hunts. There may be some where you are.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, but 4 Peaks Archery in Mesa is quite a trip if he is still open. Lots of trad stuff, and the owner is 'different'. Might be worth a look if you want some entertainment.

I know a man who lives in Phoenix and shoots a LOT! He does quite a few tournaments. He could probably get you lined up with what that area has to offer. I'll pass his contact info. if you need it.
