Jim I saw that in the how-to.... I was wondering if those hones are comparable to the one you used because the price isn't! Those 3 cost less then the 1 you showed....

The one I used is solid steel, diamond coated on one side ans 3"x8".I wanted the 3" width because of the Grizzly's length. The steel hones cost more. The Grizzly is 3 3/16" long and the stone you are looking at is 2" wide. They are a thin layer of perforated steel, coated with diamond and bonded to a piece of plastic. Not that they won't sharpen but two entirely different hones.

To be honest, you can do the same thing using various grits of wet or dry sand paper on a flat, true surface like steel plate, heavy glass, smooth ceramic tile etc.

I would start with 220 grit and go as fine as you want.I go to 2000 grit. With the new, improved grind on the Grizzlys, this should go pretty fast.
