The main difference between the regular Magnus line and the Stinger is that the Stinger is Stainless steel. They are also one of the smallest of all the Magnus heads.

I'm a fan of BIG broadheads and prefer the Magnus I w/bleeder. It takes a little more bow, but I prefer those too.

For sharpening it's hard to beat the Accusharp. Here's the link.    Accusharp at 3Rivers

Like Charlie said, the Stinger is higher grade stainless and they are made to tighter tolerances.  They also fly better at higher speeds and come ready to hunt sharp.

The traditional screw ins are carbon steel laminated traditional heads factory mounted on 7075 screw in adapters.  They need a little touching up before hunting.  They cost about half what Stingers do...a very attractive option.

Pick yer poison!  Both will get the job done, it comes down to personal preference IMO.  I don't hesitate to use either one.

what SlowBowinMO said.
but i like the stingers over the carbon magnus because they hold an edge when taking them out of a quiver and just don't dull over time like a carbon steel head will.
i have only shot 2 pigs with the heads. 1 only went 20-30 yards and the other i shot behind the shoulder going in and threw the off side shoulder blade going out, the stinger would shave hair on one blade when i picked it up. and it spun perfectly.

but as soon as i run out of stingers i am going to phantoms just because it is a larger head.

I've been shooting stingers for a couple of years now.  I went to them because they are stainless.  I use both the 2 and the 4 blade, and if I had to choose one over the other I would choose the 4 blade.  I also have an accusharp, but only use it at times when I have very little time to resharpen.  I like to sharpen mine with a small diamond rod, or a Lansky (spelling).  They are easy enough to take the bleeder out of and sharpen them as well.
