Vermonster 13 youth bow program
« on: February 24, 2012, 01:29:00 PM »
Hey all.  Greetings...

Since 2007, Dave, (Vermonster 13) and the TGMM have contracted me to make bows for little kids to get proficient in archery, and preserve the passion, to learn a skill that most don't posses these days.

I'm pleased to see some of those bows getting passed on.  That's the whole idea.  So those that have some out grown pup bows collecting dust, don't let that happen, send them along.  There's lots of efforts that go into the program and not just from myself.  Pass it along and keep kids equiped.

Thanks everyone.

Mike,

I still have the longbow that was given to my daughter Natalie.  She is now 9 and has outgrown the bow.  I have held onto it and showed it to my 2 year old.  I am about to let my 2 year old fling an arrow out of it.  The longbow is getting passed down.  Thank you again for this program in getting kids and bows together!  You guys rock.

Yes, of course, passing them down to siblings counts too.  As long as it brings a new kid on board that's what it's about.

Please take some pics of your 2 year old learning to shoot that Pup longbow.  And don't forget to post them here for all to enjoy.  Keep up the good work!

Mike............

It is a really nice thing you are doing for the kids, building these bows and offering them free of charge each month. It shows your passion for promoting our sport and your great generosity of money and your time.

If it's kids bows you the man.

Thanks again Mike.

My son Tucker passed his along last year.It was a good feeling for him to know another kid got it. Its cool if each kid added his or her name as it was passed along. Thank you Mike and Dave for helping my son start his journey in our traditional way.   :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :campfire:

James,  (and anyone else that thinks I donate the bows: I don't deserve the credit) Each year I'm contracted to build bows for the kids.  I sell them at a discount but I still get paid.  It's through donations that they are purchased.  Contact Vermonster 13 for more info on how to become involved.

Just so everyone knows, there's many involved in the fund raising.

TTT.

Oliver is loving his bow at the moment.  Keeps his folks up at night talking about shgooting.

when he outgrows it, I have a larger one waiting for him and he will pass it on.

Thanks Dave and Mike for all your work with this incredibly awesome program.

Great pic!
I hope the Vermonster is keeping an album of these, they are priceless memories of a world of good.

Great way to reap dividends for years to come! I've got a 5 yr. old grandson(right-handed as far as I can tell) that I have custody of that is looking for a hand-me-down bow when someone has one to "move along". "Huck Finn" pictured below at the deer shack with the "Vunderbeast"!
