Predator Hunter DX - feedback ?
« on: February 29, 2012, 03:35:00 PM »
Hi all,

Do you have any feedback regarding these predator Hunter DX models (the less expensive one in futurewood) ?

Do they compare to the custom ones in terms of efficiency, quality and durability ?

Your help /toughts will be much appreciated before i order one of them at 3RA.

Best regards and take care of you.

Predators are fine bows in every respect. Quick, quiet and easy
to tune. I have 3 of them with 1 of the new metal risers. It has 1 of the most comfortable grips I've ever had. The limbs from 1996
to present are all interchangeable! You will be happy with it!

I have 2 predators. One is the hunter model and the other is the classic. Top shelf bows!

Only difference is cosmetic.  I have owned thre hunter model along with a custom model. No diff in shooting characteristics. IMO

Predators are great recurves, quiet, stable, fast! They are probably the best deal in traditional archery as per performance to cost ratio!

from the looks of Blacky's testing they should be smooth even for long draw guys.....

Bought a Hunter in October. I didn't really like the future wood look so I asked Mike if he could make me an old school version out of solid Bubinga. Got it in 6-8 weeks as promised. Love the bow. 46@28, I draw 27.5. Shoot 2016 aluminums with 125 heads. They zip. Great looking bow, great shooting bow. You can't go wrong!

Forgot to mention, the grip is great. Shoot exactly the same as the custom. Custom could be a little heavier depending on woods. Get the 60 inch. Mike said it's the best performer.

Hi all,

Well, it's finnaly there ! Predator Hunter DX, 60" (as Pete suggested) and 45@28 (i draw 28, and the bow is actually 45 at this DL, well done guys).

I finnaly bought the brown hunter DX, i think it's more natural (personnal choice) but the black one seems nice too.

First findings: After a quick initial setup (BH at 7.5 and + 6mm for the nocking point), i chose to try my GT 3555 at 28,75 + standard insert and 125gr field point (3D setup).

I have shot about 100 arrows yesterday with it now and i can say it's a shooter. Will try to get it through a chrono soon.
Overall it's a very nice piece of equipement:
- shoot where you look
- great grip (i have big hands^^)
- heavyweight for added stability
- seems to beable to last forever !
- affordable for the common guy

By the way will accept arrows suggestions ^^ i shot what i had in stock !

Best regards,

M
