Rivers Edge showed up from Down Under
« on: July 25, 2007, 09:11:00 PM »
What a good day! My Rivers Edge got here today from Australia. I made a deal over on the Trad Gang classifieds (best place on the net to do any dealing by the way) on July 4th with Gundy, what a great guy to deal with!

I am really impressed with this bow. Excellent workmanship, just the right physical weight for me, and it is a fast shooter! It came with two sets of limbs, 50#'s and 55#'s, which is perfect for the weight I like to shoot. Well, I better get out and shoot some more arrows before it gets to dark. Here are a few pics.

Thanks guys! I'm already having a blast with it. I took it out in the yard tonight and found that shooting 29 3/4" 2018's, 29 1/2" CX Terminator Select 45/60's with 100 grn brass inserts, and 29 1/2" 2016's all flew very well. All arrows had 125 grain field tips. I was surprised that the 2016's appeared to fly good. I need to do alot more shooting to find the perfect combo, but by all appearances, this bow will shoot a variety of different arrows.

LeRoy - I was already craving a Vortex and an Arroyo before this one got here. My wife just said tonight, "It never ends, does it?" I told her that, yes it probably does, I think I've just ended my search for the right takedown, but the same guy who made this one makes a great longbow and a one piece recurve, I'll let you know if it ends after I try those out. She went to bed.

The wife is going to think I've lost my mind, I'm selling my other bows, quivers, etc! I'm going to narrow it down to this one. Wow, never thought it would come to this. Keep your eyes on the classifieds.

Dave,

I've applied for the flying pig license before, but I've never been lucky enough to draw a tag yet. Seeing that rock wall you have to deal with, I'd bet you would have the advantage over me. I hear those tags hard to come by?? I'll let you know how it goes when (if) I sell my stuff.

Congrats on the new bow Doug!!! Give me a call when you get up this way and we can get together and do some shooting.
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Sticshooter - I hear what your saying. Don't know if I can get by with one bow or not, the temptation may be too strong   :) . I'll have to see what Kevin comes up with next.

JoLo - The limbs are curly myrtle (which is what my boy and I named her, Curly or Myrtle, depends on what he calls it), the riser I'm not so sure about, maybe diamond wood and??? Hope that the B.L. shows up soon for you, let me know when it does. By the way, we're all nuts!

Dan - I plan on being up there sometime in August. My brother wants me up there to set/move some stands and clear some brush and set up a blind or two. I will be up there before or by R.B. Days, I'll let you know and we can get together and shoot.
