Over Shafting arrow to gain weight?

Just wondering if anyone over shafts them selfs and adds more weight up front to get correct arrow fight aswell as creating a heavyer toatal  arrow weight.

Yep.  Shooting 400 spine with 300 up front to get my weight up out of a 50 lbs. Bow.

It's very common now to do this with Carbons.

Some folks are doing it with Alum. and woodies as well.

I shoot a 400 spine carbon cut to 29.5" with 275 grains out front from a 55# d/r longbow.

Yep, full length 400 spine GT5575s, 225gr tip, 100gr brass insert and 3 X 4" RW feathers. FOC is approx 21%. I like this set up.

most everybody that hunts here as opposed to just target shooting does that. I pretty much have too, I have such a long draw length that I need the stiffer spine then have to front load the hell out of it to fly right and have a decent FOC. I primarily do it with 100gr brass inserts and then 125gr heads, I could just shoot heavy heads and use regular inserts, but like the vast assortment of 125gr heads on the market including bullheads for turkeys.
