I'm sorry...

That's a cool vid Thom.
...those limbs do move for you..lol

It is cool and fun how you were there from the very beginning until now on this build..to the point of being built at the same time using some of the same pieces of wood.

It might be a week or two before I get to really put the bow through it's paces.

Thom..that bow looks dang serious when you pull it back man...like a cobra ready to strike.

Hey John, sorry if I put you on the spot. Hopefully everything gets ironed out and you get back to shooting soon!!!

I love the banter at the wheelie shop with the guy putting up his crossbow. He's talking about it being too loud to hunt more than 25 yards while I'm shooting from the 22 yard line and the loudest thing you hear is the arrows hitting the target down range    :bigsmyl:

I LOVE giving my very good friend a hard time for using his limbed rifle.

You guys have any good stories from your hunts with the new bows?

Howdy guys, I just got back and I didn't get a shot off this weekend. I did however shoot up the targets in camp quite a bit and I'm REALLY loving this bow!!! I may have some short stories, pics, or videos to add later, I'll put a link here if appropriate.

I did put a few surface scratches in the finish on this trip, now I don't have to worry about it being too perfect any more. Personally I don't think it detracts from it's beauty, and everyone that knows me will also know where my bows will go pursuing game.

Next up for me, I'm going to change out my broadhead setup and resume the fine tuning on my arrows. Also I'm not completely happy with my side quiver so I think I'm going to mount my Slim Jim angle quiver on this for a week or two and see how it shoots with the limb bolt attachment system.

In the meantime I gotta get on with the second half of my vacation! I'll check in with you guys as I can, but less than my usual several times per day.

Sorry you didn't get to test out your new bow on game Thom.

Very happy you're loving the bow though!

Enjoy your time off!

Gotta dig up this old thread tonight. My bow is almost a month old now, and tonight the warranty was voided. I won't go into all the details but it was dry fired from a 28" draw, and that was a horrible thing to hear and see.

Afterward I took it apart and all but put it under a microscope, and I can't see anything wrong with it. I checked the string out and started shooting it adding an inch of draw at a time until I was back to 32". Shot a few dozen shots there with the arrows flying straight and true, and hitting with authority. I believe my bow to be 100% OK, but it will take some time to fully regain confidence.

Kirk, I post this here as a deep felt and sincere thank you for all of your work in this design, using top shelf materials, and all of your care in crafting this bow. Thank you!

That is why you are MLA material Thom.  You have great integrity.  I look forward to laying my eyes on it, and especially slinging a few out of her this weekend.

Hey Mike, just be sure you have an arrow on the string before you do! Always easier to be a good man when surrounded by other good people. In that way the MLA is top shelf!

Thanks John, there were a few tense moments there. Glad to see your news today, I do hope I get to see that bow in person someday.

Hey Thom,

These things will typically take some dry fires without damage, but it's awful dad burn tough on them.

Check out the riser very carefully too. Believe it or not, it's sometimes harder on the riser than it is the limbs. If you see any separation along the accent lines or even the finish, please contact me and discontinue shooting it immediately & We'll get another riser built for you.

Dry fires are tough on any bow. I hope your's is ok. My Big Foot is a true testimate to how tough and well built they are. I won't go into the details, but this bow was in an accident that very bows would have even survived, much less still be functional, and shoot as good as it ever did.

Thats good to know that these bows are tough,  I hate handing my bow for someone to look at,  I have learned not to be shy about saying ,  DONT draw that back without an arrow in it!   My Brother in law dry fired one of mine by accident and he has been shooting for 30 years, so it can happen to anyone

Thanks for chiming in Kirk. Everything looks great so far, but I didn't peel up the felt pads. Should I do that tonight? (If I do, barge cement to put it back down?)

As I was going over it last night under a bright light, I just kept replaying that phone conversation we had about adhesives. I remember you talking about how at this draw length and weight you were going to run with the very toughest adhesive at each glue point even though it would take longer to dry, etc. These thoughts were what prompted the posting above. I promise to do all I can to ensure we don't have a redo on this little situation.

Another piece of good news, I guess I build a string that is tough and not just pretty!

I think we are good here Kirk. I peeled up the felt and it all looks great. I checked the dark grains really close and I don't see anything wrong anywhere. I put the bow back together and shot 50 full draw shots and this monster is still dialed in.

I'll let you focus on getting your next bunch of bows out to the anxious hands of the new owners!
